The list of nominees will be announced on February 3, 2021, and the awards ceremony will be held on February 28.

Along with Yerzhanov's film, this year's award list includes new films by such masters of world cinema as Thomas Vinterberg, Agnieszka Holland, Andrei Konchalovsky, Werner Herzog, Matteo Garrone, Hirokazu Koreeda, Naomi Kawase, Olivier Assayas and others.

- I think the very fact that we're being considered for this award speaks volumes about the serious work of our producers. I think the credit goes first and foremost to them. I also congratulate the entire team of A Dark, Dark Man. I am glad that our joint work has not gone unnoticed, - said director Adilkhan Yerzhanov.
