The film “Night God” by Adilkhan Yerzhanov takes part in the “CameraLucida” competition program of the FANTASIA International film Festival, which will be held in Montreal, Canada, from July 11 to August 1, 2019.
The film’s genre is drama/fantasy. It tells the story of a tired man, wandering in the maze of a deserted city frozen in eternal winter, where all residents in fear await the appearance of a Night God.
- In the film you can see an excellent work of all departments, the actors, the art designer and the cameraman. Their work stabilize/compensate a fairly abstract plot. In general, I am glad that the film will have its audience in Canada, - commented the director Adilkhan Yerzhanov.
According to the organizers of the FANTASIA Festival, its program is for an experimental and audacious cinema, “showcasing its most original, personal and innovative voices”.
As a reminder, the world premiere of “Night God” was in 2018, in the main competition of the 40th Moscow International Film Festival. Also last year, the film took part in L’Etrange Film Festival in Paris and Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival in Indonesia. In 2019 the film took part in the Bengaluru International Film Festival in India.
